Best-in-class weather sealing features o-ring seals on the spindle and inner shell, a wiper connection seal between bearing and end cap, bearing race seals, and a labyrinth end cap design to keep water and trail debris out. Custom polymer spindle bushings eliminate metal-on-metal contact between the bearing inner race and crank spindle, preventing creaking and extending crankset life. The custom AlSi 52100 chrome bearing steel is hardened to Rc 61-66 for reduced friction and smooth pedaling, with ZNA corrosion-resistant coating for long-term protection. Ball diameter, width, and counts were custom selected by Wolf Tooth based on spindle diameter for optimal performance. Adjustable-width shells fit both 68mm and 73mm English (BSA) frame bottom bracket shells.
